Research Interests
My research focuses on the functional details of how visual stimuli are
encoded as reportable percepts in our mind's eye using a mixture of
computional, behavior and electrophysiological techniques.
It is especially interesting to me how the process of selecting
information from the visual stream is related to
the subsequent encoding of
it. My work suggests that selection and enoding
interact, and this functional integration produces the attentional
blink (a demo).
You can read about this work in some recently published
models; STST and
the more recent eSTST.
I also study the influence of
emotion on attention.
